MY GIRL HONEY

MY GIRL, HONEY
February 28, 2025

I never thought I wanted a dog. I always loved them, but the idea of taking on another big responsibility felt overwhelming.

Then, my two boys moved out, and my mom passed away. That was such a dark time. I knew it was the perfect time, and I was ready for a new adventure.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. A dear friend—a well-known dog trainer in NYC—gave me some of the best advice. When she asked what I was looking for in a dog, I described my ideal companion. She smiled and said, “You want a Shih Tzu.” She also warned me never to buy a puppy from a pet store. I usually take good advice.

But then came that day on Lexington Avenue. As I passed a pet shop, I saw her—Honey—sitting in the window. In that moment, I knew. I couldn’t just walk away. There was my girl!

Honey became part of our family 12 years and nine months ago, and she changed our lives for the better. She is smart, sweet, adorable, and incredibly obedient. A few years ago, she was diagnosed with Renal disease, yet both of her vets are amazed at how well she’s doing. Honey is a fighter, and at this point with all the ups and downs, she is somewhat of a miracle dog! . She has taught me patience, and she has given our whole family nothing but unconditional love.

We are so lucky to have her and experience that kind of love. I never want our time together to end. Honey is the sweetest soul, and when she’s gone, I will miss her every single day…

HONEY

I JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW....

Every summer I try and get to my favorite latest projects and do a professional photoshoot. This past summer (like everything else) that ritual had to be put on hold because of Covid-19. Hopefully, I will be photographing some new projects as soon as possible. CAN’T WAIT!!

Everything in our world (as far as I’m concerned) has been placed upside down since last March. I do not know one person that has not been negatively and personally affected. This has been very hard on all of us in so many different ways. I want to reach out to anyone who has gotten extremely sick or worse yet, lost a loved one.

For you, this has been horrific. I am sending my deepest sympathies.

We are all in this together, and I just wanted you to know that I am still working although differently. (I am doing a lot of Zoom and FaceTime sessions). I am also helping a lot of people (stay happy) by doing a one-hour consultation over the phone. Let’s chat and stay connected!

Since I feel that what I do is always about relating to people, listening to their hopes and dreams, so much more than just design, let’s keep it up! So many of my dear clients have asked, YES! I am available to work.

I would love to work with you this new (hopefully temporary) way. I always feel like a guide, and really care about trying to make people happy. Making your home more beautiful, that’s my passion!! Until we all see one another again, Let’s all keep dreaming of better times!

STAY HAPPY, SAFE & HEALTHY! Evelyn
